Chocolate Breakfast Recipes
Get moving in the morning by treating yourself to a chocolate breakfast. Chocolate for breakfast can be a healthy way to start the day. The two breakfast options below are nutritious options to get your chocolate fix. The first is chocolate oatmeal and the second is a yogurt and granola parfait.
Chocolate Breakfast Recipes
Chocolate Oatmeal Recipe
1 serving
Ingredients:
1/2 cup quick cooking oats (if you prefer you can use the regular old fashioned oats)
1 cup coconut milk
2 teaspoons baking cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1. Add all ingredients to a sauce pan and cook over medium heat until it boils. Stir constantly and continue cooking for 1 minute after the initial boil.
2. Remove from heat.
3. Optional: add protein powder and a few chocolate chips after it is removed from heat.
Chocolate Granola and Yogurt Parfait Recipe
Serves 1
Ingredients:
1 (6-8 oz.) container of yogurt (you can use any kind, I used key lime Greek yogurt)
1/2 cup granola (store bought is fine or make your own granola by following the recipe below)
Directions:
1. In a parfait or martini glass spoon half of the yogurt in the glass.
2. Top with half the granola.
3. Repeat with the remaining yogurt and granola.
Chocolate Granola Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups oats
1 cup of your favorite cereal (I used Corn Flakes)
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine the oats, cereal, and almonds in a large bowl.
3. Add the honey, vanilla, and cinnamon.
4. Stir to completely coat.
5. Bake for about 10-15 minutes.
6. Allow it to cool.
7. Add the chocolate chips.
8. Store in an airtight container.
