Affordable Black Cat Halloween Costume
Halloween is right around the corner. If you are in need of an affordable idea for an adult or child Halloween costume, why not consider a black cat Halloween costume?
A black cat Halloween costume can be as elaborate or as simple as you would like, and oftentimes you probably have the makings of such a costume in your own closet.
Here are some suggestions for creating a simple, affordable black cat costume for both children and adults.
Body Attire
Start with black attire of any sort – a black shirt and pants, a black bodysuit and tights, a black top and skirt, a black dress – or any other combination of black clothing you have (or your child has), or can purchase affordably. It doesn’t need to be fancy. You don’t need to spend money you don’t have, especially in today’s economy. Be creative.
Face and Ears
There are several creative options to transform one’s face into a cat face. Most simply use black eye make-up, black or white lipstick and draw black, gray or white whiskers with an eye pencil. Get a little more creative with face painting kits and transform your cat costume into a black and white cat – black body and white face, or become the mysterious totally back cat with white whiskers. You are only limited by your imagination. Another option is to purchase an inexpensive pair of ears (often sold with a tail) or a mask.
Tail
Creating your own tail will mostly likely be more economical than purchasing one. A simple idea is to take a black belt and attach it to a piece of rope, painted black, and tie the rope around the waist. Instant cat tail! Or use a black tie, attach it to a belt and you have another instant tail. Again, be creative. Of course you can also purchase a cat tail (often sold with ears).
Shoes
Any pair of black footwear will do - shoes, boots, sneakers, water shoes, or anything else you have in your closet. Combine with black socks and your feet (or your child’s feet) are transformed into black cat paws.
Accessories
