Random House publishes the juvenile historical fiction book.

Jack and Annie are time travelers. The magic tree house, a gift from Morgan le Fay, is their time portal. In A Good Night for Ghosts, Magic Tree House Book #42, Jack and Annie travel to New Orleans, Louisiana USA. The brother and sister are on another Merlin Mission. This time they must help another great musician, Louis Armstrong, bring happiness to millions. However, the kids meet spooky ghosts on this mission. This is a Halloween treat for early chapter book readers.

Juvenile readers learn historical facts about Louis Armstrong and the time in which he lived. Mary Pope Osborne is very good in weaving a good story with historical facts. She does it so well young readers do not scoff at reading her books, they beg for more. This time for Halloween fun she writes a story book with ghosts. She did this in earlier books, Mummies in the Morning Magic Tree House #3 and Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve Magic Tree House #30, with many praises from kids, parents and teachers. A Good Night for Ghosts makes a pleasant Halloween book, too.

Sal Murdocca illustrates all the Magic Tree House books. He does a masterful job of translating Mary Pope Osborne text into pictures. He draws Jack with dark hair, a backpack and glasses. Annie is the younger sibling with blond hair and an impish smile. The boy and girl detectives' fashion is modern casual until they reach their destination. On their arrival, they discover themselves wearing the fashions of the time which Murdocca illustrates beautifully. Sal Murdocca also illustrates the Tales from the Odyssey by Mary Pope Osborne.
