Alliance Bank golf Classic
This Duramed Futures Golf Tournament will be held on July 31 – Aug 2 called the Alliance Bank Golf Classic at the Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, New York. A Pro-Am will be held on July 29-30 proceeds this tournament. A purse of $100,000 will be given to the winners with $14,000 to first place and $10,000 for second place.
This Futures Tournament will be held at the East Course of Drumlins Country Club Famous as an upstate New York golfing landmark, The East Course is one of the best-designed area courses, It is both beautiful, and a pleasurable challenge for all golfing levels and abilities. Charities to benefit from this tournament will be the First Tee of Syracuse, Inc and Leadership Greater Syracuse two new charities this year. Alliance Bank Golf Classic is in its 14th year of hosting this tournament. This is the 13th event planned by the Duramed Futures Tour a developmental tour of the LPGA. This event will be held for the first time at the Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, New York.
The Alliance Bank Golf Classic will begin with a Nice N Easy Pro-Junior Challenge in the morning of July 29 followed by the Pro-Am in the afternoon. A youth clinic will be held the morning of July 30th. They have foursomes of high school golfers teamed with one of the Professional golfers in the Pro-am event. This sounds like a great way to get the young golfers involved and they can observe and play with these young professional golfers from around the world.
The top ten money winners of the Dyraned Futures Tour of 2008 will earn membership in the LPGA for 2009. Eight of those winners competed in the Alliance Bank Golf Classic in 2008 including the winner of this event Kim Welch of Sacramento, California and second place Jin Young Pak or South Korea.
Admission to the Alliance Bank Golf Classic is $10.00 per day or $25.00 for the three day weekend pass and parking will be free. Children are admitted free up to age 15 if they are accompanied by an adult who has purchased a ticket. For any interested golfer who lives within driving distance of Syracuse, New York should make an effort to attend this tournament. You will be surprised and the abilities of these young golfers who are trying to get into the LPGA.
