Ten Minute Success Solutions

Ten Minute Success Solutions
Too often we get overwhelmed, overscheduled, overcommitted and wonder where we will ever find the time to get caught up on everything. The short answer is: we won’t!

But, by using my Ten Minute Solutions, you can still get stuff done, still be productive and maybe even slow down the landslide of time as it flows away from you. No matter what you are behind on, you can use these tips to accomplish more—starting today.

Here’s the method: Take your ever-growing To-do list and pick out the most nagging item on it. (The one that you’d give to your fairy godmother to complete were she to ever show up). Then, spend just ten minutes working on that task. Just ten.

Maybe in ten minutes, all you can do is gather all the materials together for the project. That’s fine. Get them together. Put them in a box or something and go back to whatever you were doing. The next time you come across that item on your list, you will have everything together and can proceed to step two, work on it for ten minutes and then stop.

You can even make a separate list of Ten Minute Projects to work on when you are waiting for someone or when your PC is running a virus scan or before you close up for the day. You will find that doing these ten minute solutions regularly will motivate you to do even more as you go. Every success, even small ones, breeds more success.

Here are a few ideas you can complete in ten minutes, to get you started on Ten Minute Success Solutions:

1—Pay a couple of bills online or write a couple of checks.

2—Read two articles on how to get more clients for your business.

3—Make two calls to customers and say thank you for their business.

4—Write down your top three goals for this year and post them in your office or on your bathroom mirror.

5—Tidy your workspace. It can really help in motivating you if your desk is neat.

6—Catch up on filing. You do not have to overhaul your whole darn system, just spend 10 minutes putting piles into files.

7—Do ten minutes of exercise. You will totally ramp up your energy if you just get up and march in place.

8—Write a blurb for your next newsletter or plan your next sales call.

9—Schedule a meeting with a consultant to discuss taking your business to the next level.

10—RSVP for a networking event and invite a friend or acquaintance to join you.

Action Item: Take ten minutes today and take the next step in your success plan. If you don’t have a success plan, take ten minutes today and start writing one.
