National Hemochromatosis Screening and Awareness Month. A genetic disorder that prevents the body from expelling iron naturally, hemochromatosis causes a dangerous buildup of iron in the blood and organs that can lead to serious illness and death. For more information visit www.irondisorders.org
National Ice Cream Month. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July National Ice Cream Month. The U.S. ice cream industry generates more than $20 billion in sales annually, and about 9 percent of all U.S.-produced milk is used for ice cream.
