Angie Ruark, is a business owner with many gifts and talents, that’s what makes her special. She’s a blogger who shares her humorous view point with her readers, not holding back even the most real life issues, like how she worked her "Butt On", or the day she discovered her first gray hair. Her goal is to spotlight the joy in life and help everyone see that life is about a series of lessons, laughter and the love found in relationships.
Angie, like many business owners, understands the wisdom in bringing together her skills and talents and networking them together for a good outcome. You often here about networking outside of yourself to bring in more, however the real first step in networking is bringing together all of your gifts, talents and resources and network them for a desired effect. As a mother and a school teacher Angie, is able to speak to the concerns of students, parents and teachers and she does it her way. In Algebra & Chemistry class, students learn difficult equations through Angie’s original songs written to help students remember through joy instead of pressure and stress.
Take a peek at my interview with blogger Angie Ruark:
Jordan Mercedes: Angie, with so much going on in your life and the many responsibilities that you have, what inspired you to start a blog?
Angie Ruark: I began my blog as an exercise to keep me writing. Of course, being a teacher, I give myself assignments. But the more I write, the more I realize how much it means to me and how important it is to share a funny or uplifting story with someone else.
JM: What’s your mission? What do you want to accomplish through your writing, music, speaking and other talents?
AR: Our days are chock full of stuff and stress, so to be able to take a minute or two and read an article or hear a motivational talk that makes you laugh at someone who is WAY more behind on laundry than you ever thought of being is vital. There’s hope in reading an article about a young man like my son, who has overcome near blindness to become a varsity football captain. We need laughter and hope in our lives. It has been studied and discussed time and time again how important laughter is. Hope too. It keeps you going.
JM: As your blog is developing and growing, what can people expect to find at www.angieruarksblog.blogspot.com?
AR: Some of the offerings you will find on my blog include links to my upcoming children’s book series (yes they are funny but have a good point!), links to my songwriting including commercial jingles (someone has to write those things!) I do and I love it. One of my strengths as a writer is capturing an idea with a simple phrase. These turn out to be very catchy lyrics and tunes.
In the education department, there is a link to my math blog that currently features an informative article on why I believe anyone can do math. In the future I will be adding educational materials for you as well as more articles offering great ideas from experts for improving your child’s achievements in school. When you visit my blog at www.angieruarksblog.blogspot.com I hope you find lots of goodies to enjoy and that you have been entertained, inspired, and empowered!
Angie Ruark, is an example of how to take what you have and expand it so that it becomes a support and benefit to others. She encourages her readers and audience to embrace the lighter side of life and spend a lot more time laughing and sharing those funny stories.
Angie's Words of Wisdom:
"Never let anyone put limits on what you can achieve, including yourself. Find what you love to do and go for it!"
