Decadent 4 Ingredient Slow Cooker Chicken Recipe
When you’re in a hurry (and who isn’t these days), it’s nice to know you can throw four ingredients in the slow cooker and have a fabulous dinner ready in four to six hours. Dana’s Slow Cooker Cream Cheese Chicken has only four ingredients, and there’s no chopping involved; it will soon become one of your favorite quick dinners.
Although I like to stir this chicken dish a couple of times while it cooks, it isn’t absolutely necessary, especially if you plan to let it cook while you’re away from home; the flavors still permeate the chicken and it can be stirred just before serving. All you need to do to complete the dish is either put some rice to cook in the rice cooker or cook some pasta while the table is being set and everyone is being called for dinner. I like to serve this dinner with a ready-made tossed salad – there are several kinds with chopped greens, dressing, and add-ins in the produce department – and some crusty bread from the bakery. The full dinner will take you only 15-20 minutes hands-on time. To date, I haven’t found anyone who doesn’t love this chicken.
This recipe, which came from my busy sister, Dana, uses readily available convenience products. Italian salad dressing mix adds a lot of flavor to this creamy chicken dish; I’ve found that the store brand is identical to it’s expensive name-brand counterpart, and I keep several packages on my pantry shelves for recipes like this. Almost everyone has a few cans of cream of chicken soup on hand, too, and with the frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts so readily available, you probably have most of the ingredients to make this dish at home today. The recipe can easily be doubled for a larger family.

- pour the cream cheese mixture over the chicken breasts.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low 4-6 hours, stirring once or twice during cooking (if you happen to be around; otherwise, it’s okay and will still turn out fine.)
