It’s the name of a new company that was inspired by a pair of soft bunny slippers and two very good friends. It’s what I call a “comfort” company. It’s a little like comfort food without the guilt or extra pounds. Run Away Bunny, grew from a conversation between Gayla Warner and Laura Jones. They started by bringing back the classic comfortable rabbit slippers for women. The warm treats for your feet were a big success. The next thing was to add slippers for children and it comes as a surprise to me that even men wanted their feet snuggled by the little bunnies, so the Classic Big Foot bunny slipper emerged.

I like Run Away Rabbit Creations because they took a simple passion for comfort and matched it with a good idea. They realized that if they enjoyed the playfulness of rabbit slippers, others would also. Then they sat down and made a plan to make it happen. The women grew their product line to include additional comforting products like the Super Soft Hoodie and Not Your Grannies Bed Jacket.

I had a chance to speak with Laura Jones, who shared of the willingness of the two women to do the work of taking orders, packaging and shipping. That was in the early days before they were selling their products to large companies and spas. They worked the company until the company began to work for them. That’s an important factor when starting any new venture. Your most important resource is to use what you already have. Recently, a business owner of a botanical flower arranging shop, told me that she felt it was important for every company to have their own “wow” factor in order to stand out above the rest. Every thing about Run Away Bunny says “wow”. Even if you don’t purchase a pair of slippers for yourself, there’s a chance at some point you may want to purchase a pair for someone else.
