Book Review Look for the Good and You'll Find God
The Spiritual Journey of a Psychic and Healer
By Echo Bodine
Echo Bodine is a gifted healer, teacher and psychic. And she is a pioneer in a day when so many are expressing healing talents and psychic gifts.
When I received her newest book “Look for the Good and You’ll Find God” I was immediately drawn to the title as I’d just been discussing that basic idea with a friend of mine!
The book is not too long (though I would have loved a bit more) only 179 pages. And her writing style is so easy-going. When I finished the book I felt that she must actually be a friend of mine; I felt so connected to her!
This book is her own spiritual journey. Each chapter touches on a certain situation in her life. She then ends the chapter with a “For You To Think About” section in which she asks us to find a similar situation in our own lives and look to it for answers.
Echo starts off by talking about her childhood relationship with God. I found myself nodding in agreement at every turn! She talks about her healing journey through alcoholism, finding her spiritual path, and shared how her views on God changed as she, herself, grew and changed and healed.
There are so many things about this book that made me feel so much better about myself and life in general! Here is this woman who I hold in high regard, and yet she has gone through many of the things that I have.
In particular, I loved her chapter on “Heroes.” Here she spoke about one of her favorite mediums (and mine), James Van Praagh. She was so nervous to meet him, yet when she did, she ended up giving him a reading and blew his mind! Her lesson in this chapter was that sometimes when we compare ourselves to others, it makes us feel less good about our own abilities and talents. And we can’t use this as an excuse to keep ourselves from moving forward. Instead we need to ask ourselves what they are doing to make themselves succeed, and figure out what we need to do to get there too!
This book was such a pleasure to read! I loved reading about Echo’s experiences as a psychic and healer. After reading this book I can so much more easily see how my own views of God have changed over the years, and I can see that my own blocks are just excuses. I’m now excited to move forward and see how I can let my own talents continue to grow and change!
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in personal healing and transformation. Echo knows what it means to really see God in all situations… even those we may first believe to be difficult or traumatic. God is everywhere, and when we can find the good, we find God.
