The first single from Britney Spears’ upcoming album Circus made its debut September 26th on New York City’s Z100-FM radio station, followed by its television debut on the popular MTV reality show “The Hills” on September 29th. The new single, titled “Womanizer”, brings with it an electro-sexy vibe that is complimented by catchy lyrics and a danceable beat produced by The Outsyders—energizing, empowering, and irresistible. Britney’s “Womanizer” is the type of song that gives you that undeniable urge to get up and dance, even if you’re sitting in your car in the middle of traffic. This female empowering tune is possibly one of the hottest songs to hit the airwaves this year, and is sure to receive a lot of spins at clubs.

Following three wins at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, the “Womanizer” single release signals a formidable comeback for Britney, especially if “Womanizer” is a true sign of things to come on Britney’s upcoming sixth studio album. Britney’s new album Circus, produced by the likes of Max Martin and Nate “Danja” Hills, will be released coinciding with her 27th birthday on December 2nd. Her new album comes a little over a year after she released Blackout—an album which experienced only moderate success, having been overshadowed by the drama in Britney’s personal life. With her personal life once again on track, it appears that Circus stands a chance of solidifying her comeback and getting her career back on track.

In the midst of her single release, new album anticipation, and comeback chatter, Britney premiered the music video for "Womanizer" in a big way. The new video, which features Britney as a sultry waitress and a sexy secretary, premiered on ABC’s “20/20” on October 10th – after the network teased the public with commercials showing video peeks in the days leading up to the premier. Her new video, which was directed by video legend Joseph Kahn who also brought us the videos for Britney’s “Stronger” and “Toxic”, is a sexy and fun video that beautifully and playfully showcases Britney’s latest single. The premier of the “Womanizer” music video certainly gave the naysayers reason to think twice, and gave fans a reason to believe that this time Britney may really be back.
