Reva, oh baby!
Reva’s pregnancy is all the buzz on the Guiding Light message boards. There is so much controversy surrounding this storyline. The only other storyline I can remember causing this much controversy, is Reva’s battle with Breast Cancer. Some fans thought Reva was portrayed as strong, even when death seemed near.
Many fans are anxiously waiting for Josh and Reva to reunite. As soon as the ink was dry on the divorce papers, Josh informed Cassie that he intends to pursue Reva. Cassie stunned Josh by giving her blessing. So there is nothing standing in Josh's way; except a determined Jeffrey O'Neil.
Jeffrey and Reva have faced many battles. First, Olivia was gravely ill, and Jeffrey made a vow to take care of her in her time of need. Because of Reva's history with Olivia, Jeffrey's attachment to Olivia put a strain on his relationship with Reva. Even though they make a good couple, not everyone has embraced Reva and Jeffrey's relationship.
Some of the controversy over the storyline comes from another angle: Reva is a grandmother, and was almost a great-grandmother. Reva is undoubtedly the Queen of Springfield. She came back from the dead, beat cancer, and dated every available Lewis man. So Reva can do anything, right? Well maybe this time, Reva went to far. The idea of Reva having a baby at this stage is unsettling. Where does a baby fit in her relationship with Jeffrey?
So what would you like to see happen? I hope that Reva’s cancer does not return. According to Lillian, pregnancy may complicate Reva’s health, and her body may not allow her to carry a baby to term. But this pregnancy allows Jeffrey the chance to raise a child, something he didn’t get with Ava. But remember, this is daytime, and although the picture I created is nice, it’s unlikely. I see a more realistic future happening like this: Reva and Jeffrey will go on their honeymoon, and return with a whirlwind of issues. If Reva miscarries, Josh will be relentless in his pursuit to reunite with Reva. If Reva leaves Jeffrey, I think the bond between Josh and Reva is so strong, he would consider remarrying Reva, baby or no baby. Please leave your thoughts in our forums, and join the discussion!
