The Miele CVA 5000 Coffee System
Just when I started feeling a little antsy looking for the next big thing in coffee makers, I stumble upon not a coffee maker, but the ultimate coffee system. Imagine rolling out of bed and going straight to the coffee bar ordering freshly ground coffee with every detail handled and you haven’t even left home.
No it is not a dream; it is a reality that has arrived. It’s kind of like the Jetson’s home of the future or as close as we can get right now. Okay in case you are not familiar, the Jetson’s was a futuristic cartoon made by Hanna-Barbera in the 60’s which featured family life with robotic maids and being able to get anything you wanted just by asking for it.
About Miele
The Miele Company has been making high-quality domestic appliances for the home and commercial setting for 108 years. I would say that makes them uniquely qualified to create a coffee system that satisfies every aspect of the coffee-lover’s dream.
Miele Coffee Systems
Miele makes a number of coffee systems but The Miele CVA 5000 is the very latest in a line that is to-die-for. Here are a few standard features in the previous CVA 4075 model:
Plumbed-in water connection
Whole coffee bean system
Conical grinding system
500g coffee bean container
Grinds from 6g to 12g of coffee beans per cup
Grinder settings are adjustable (coarse to fine)
Pre-brew system (on/off)
Large-capacity container for used coffee grounds
Adjustable cup size settings
Variable water temperature control
Water hardness setting
Dual dispensing spouts
Hot water spout
Frothing system
Multi-lingual LCD display, 7 languages
Stand-by function
Delay start / stop function
Automatically prompts you to add fresh water and coffee beans
The CVA 5000
The CVA 5000 model elaborates on these features. According to Miele’s latest press release, “While a trained barista takes time to carefully craft each café beverage to perfection – now anyone can easily replicate these results at home with a simple touch to the new generation CVA 5000.”
While the CVA 5000 has many wonderful improved features over the older models (and I personally would take even their very first model), here is what has my attention: “If desired, up to ten users can create their own "connoisseur profile" programmed to their personal preferences such as the fineness and quantity of beans to be ground, water temperature and quantity of milk or water per cup. Flexibility is also ensured by the pre-ground chamber which allows a portion of a second type of coffee, e.g. decaffeinated, to be added.” This beats room service hands-down. The coffee systems are not only intuitive, they are beautiful too.
The Cost
The cost of these systems runs from $2300 and up with the CVA 5000 not even having been priced yet but don’t run away. Has The Secret taught you nothing?
The Value of Dreaming
This is not an exercise is frivolousness. It is an exercise in expanding your realm of possibilities. Most of us would look at something like this and make comments like, “maybe in my next life” and immediately dismiss it from our minds. We tell ourselves it’s not possible for us. This is where we go wrong. I don’t know about you, but this is going on my list with a picture on my Vision Board because this is how I want to live.
Can you believe this is possible for you? I can. Just set your mind on yes for receive and hey, you never know. You only go around once in this life. I’d like to do it with good coffee.
Take a walk on the Miele site and expand your dreams. The value of dreaming? Priceless.
