Seasonal Craft Book/Pattern Reviews for Gardeners

“Table Toppers-Celebrating the Great Outdoors”
By Debbie Field for Granola Girl Designs, this is a new title from Landauer Books.
It features 18 quick and easy appliqué quilt patterns that will provide seasonal interest. Some of these projects combine simple patchwork with the appliqué.
There is something here to suit every taste. The appliqués include everything from spring daffodils and irises to sunflowers. For fall, gardeners can choose from pumpkins and bittersweet vines to the autumn harvest.
In addition to floral motifs, these also depict other scenes from nature, such as birds. Among the projects are table runners, candle mats, and table
toppers.
With over 100 full color photos, this has complete, step by step, illustrated, easy to follow instructions for each project. There are full size, appliqué templates. The introduction has all the general directions for the basic appliqué and quilting techniques that are used.

This title by Marilyn Gash was published by Indygo Junction. These appealing designs feature timeless folk art motifs that are versatile enough for holidays as well as any other time of the year.
These combine hand embroidery and wool appliqué techniques. The ornaments can be used alone or as a group to create various kinds of projects. The book features three projects, including a mason jar pin cushion, and a miniature quilt or wall hanging. On the cover is a lovely wreath made from the ornaments.
This has full size appliqué patterns for each ornament along with step by step instructions for each ornament and project. There is also a list of the fabrics and supplies needed for each one.
