Soap Summary – week of 3/24
Guiding Light – Jeffrey proposes to Olivia.

Olivia works fast when there is a deadline. She had limited time to pique Gus’s interest, and she did so in record time. Olivia has a history of getting men to see things her way: Josh, Bill, Frank, and Buzz, to name a few. Olivia’s plan to wed Gus backfired. Gus realized he couldn’t go through with the surprise wedding. Gus seems to be at odds with his love life. He wants to play hero to Olivia and her family, but he still wants to maintain his commitment with Natalia. I just have the feeling that Olivia will somehow make a miraculous recovery. After all of these years, Jeffrey and Olivia may fall in love. Olivia better watch out for Reva.

The Bold & the Beautiful – Taylor is forced to make a decision about Rick.

The idea of Taylor and Rick is far-reaching for me. I don’t understand Rick’s sudden interest in Taylor. Rick literally threw himself in the middle of the custody battle between Taylor and Nick for baby Jack. He made himself available to comfort Taylor and encourage her to let go while also taking advantage of her vulnerable state. First Ashley, then Phoebe, and now Taylor? When it comes to relationships, Rick moves almost as fast as his mother!

The following is what I hope to see happen next week:

As the World Turns – Katie needs to accept that she has feelings for Brad.

This storyline has been dangling in the air for a long time. Brad has been after Katie since he arrived in Oakdale. At first, Brad was playing the field and dating various women. Katie treated him differently; she didn’t show Brad the attention he was used to receiving. She wasn’t impressed by his looks or charisma; in fact, in the beginning, Katie didn't care for Brad. Over the course of time, everything changed. After having way too many drinks, Katie realized how much she cares for Brad, and started to rethink her feelings for his brother, Jack.

On a side note, what do you think about the new Guiding Light? Guiding Light has decided to go digital. The effects are less dramatic. It was a little surprising to see how different the characters looked. It’s as if they are sitting right next to you. I applaud Guiding Light for being innovative and doing something out of the ordinary. Leave your comments on Guiding Light’s new look in our forums: Guiding Light discussion
