Canada Day Prompts
Each year Canadian's prepare to celebrate July 1st with their patriotic clothes, flags and cook out preparations. All this is done to celebrate their countries heritage. What does your community do to celebrate Canada Day? Let's look at some Canada Day prompts to get you journaling.
Here are some prompts to help you journal about Canada Day:
Day One: How does Canada Day affected your life?
Day Two: How do you celebrate this day? Is it a family tradition handed down from generations to generations?
Day Three: What are some fond memories of Canada Day as a child? How have these memories impacted your journaling experience?
Day Four: What are some not so fond memories of Canada Day as a child? How have these memories impacted your journaling experience?
Day Five: Journal about the firework display whether private or public? Didn’t make it to a firework celebration this year, don your pretend caps and review past years that you participated in.
Day Six: What are some of the thoughts that come to your mind when you think about Canada Day?
Day Seven: Journal about some of Canada's history that has touched your life? How has this molded and shaped you in your journaling?
Day Eight: Have you ever researched the historical background of Canada? If so what have you discovered that inspired you and strengthened your patriotic pride?
Ok, let's be creative and make these response turn into journaling pages, not just journaling sentences. Another thought to consider is have you ever pondered doing a heritage journal for your country? Calling it a My Canadian History Journal? Or a travel journal with a Canadian theme? Or if you never been to Canada, how about trying a journal about your countries history. Journal all the important events surrounding the background of your country. Who were the important people that helped carve out the historical background of your great country? How have these special people helped impact your life? Other people’s lives? When was your country founded and by who? Does your country have a patriotic celebration commemorating the country you live in? What are the traditions of your country in regards to celebrating the above referenced day?
