Julianne Hough
You might know her as a two time winner on “Dancing with the Stars”, but now she is adding a new title to her resume, country singer. Releasing her debut effort on May 20th, she had to juggle a few things such as the Dancing finale before she could even go buy her own copy. No worries tho, the CD sold 67,000 copies the first week it was released. Starting June 11th she is going out on tour with Brad Paisley and getting her feet wet before the country music fans.
This 19yo is no stranger to singing, she’s been doing it since she was a youngster, she and her siblings have been referred to as the “blonde Osmond’s”. Her first release is That Song In My Head and it has steadily been climbing the charts since it’s release. I have heard it many times on XM radio. While not a traditional country music album, it is more pop country, it is a solid effort for a first CD. Fans of the show she is on might know her now, but fans of country music are going to learn about her in short order if she continues to rise up the charts.
Julianne did not plan on being on the top rated show “Dancing with the Stars”, she had every intention of moving to Nashville and working on her CD, but when the offer came along, she couldn’t turn it down. Like Josh Gracin, she had to work on the CD in between her other responsibilities, so it took a bit longer than she planned to get it out to the radio and fans. According to Julianne, she had almost complete control over the music on her release. She didn’t tweak her voice on tracks and she tried to stay true to herself in the choice of songs. The songs on the CD are those that she can relate to, she has lived through most of what she has chosen to sing.
