The Wand of Dianthus is a gift to Jack and Annie, the Magic Tree House Books Kids. Jack and Annie are the heroes of the Merlin Missions by Mary Pope Osborne. The missions are part of the Magic Tree House Books Series.

Merlin the Camelot magician gives the Wand of Dianthus to the siblings in Blizzard of the Blue Moon, Magic Tree House Book #37. It is their reward for proving they can use magic wisely. The magical Dianthus Wand allows the Frog Creek Kids to independently use magic themselves.

Jack and Annie search for the four secrets of happiness in the Merlin Missions 37-42. Merlin feels sad and old. The residents of Camelot, Jack and Annie are worried about the dear magician. Morgan Le Fay through Teddy and Kathleen, young sorcerers, sends the siblings on the quest. They hope the knowledge of the four secrets of happiness will save Merlin from wasting away.

The Wand of Dianthus has three rules for proper usage.

1. Use it to help others, not yourself.
2. Use the wand after all else fails.
3. Use it with a five-word command.
