It is that time once again to prepare for promoting autism awareness. APRIL IS AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH. Spread the word.

I made some purchases for autism awareness through Cafe Press. I try to buy from different sellers to have an assortment of products in my home and to test our various shops and phrases. This time I utilized two stores for several items.

Over at child with autism I picked out a baseball jersey for Matthew that states, " Yes, I am Autistic! - Stare if you must, I'm not paying attention to you anyway". This is three quarter sleeve in the navy/white option for $14.99. I like that it is 100% cotton and not too thick or thin. Matthew wore this to school the other day.

I also purchased two magnets at this store, Autism Rocks!!(and flaps and spins and ...) for $3.49 and the April is Autism Awareness Month. Both are rectangle and placed on our refrigerator alongside some buttons from previous purchases at other sites.

My orders with Cafe Press were placed on 2/20/08 and received via UPS on 2/29/08. The other site I purchased from is Wilson Wisdom. I learned of this store from a CafeMom group. I really like the phrase he created, "LABELS go on SOUP CANS, AUTISM is a DIAGNOSIS" and chose the Tile Coaster for $5.99.

I finally got a Wall Clock for the bedroom and chose the phrase, "ACCEPTANCE IS THE CURE, Autism Awareness". The price was reasonable at $13.99 and well packaged along with batteries ready to hang. I was thinking about a tote, but instead went wit a journal book that has, "Accept, love, respect, honor, admire, embrace, empower, cherish & understand autism" on the cover. I like that this is wire bound and unlined with 160 pages for $9.99.

Victorystore.com - Autism Awareness Silver Photo Frame for $15.95 or two for $30.00. I really like these and will be getting two so I can display graduation photos since Matthew is graduating from Elementary School this year.

AwarenessDepot.com - Autism Photo Frame Magnet sells for $4.95 and has bulk options for purchase. This is used for the refrigerator.

Prints

Autism Merchandise - "To my autistic child" poem is sold as a print, on a ceramic tile and in a shirt. The prices vary. This is something that would make a nice gift for a higher functioning child to celebrate a special event.

Art.com - Fine Art Autism print by Brad Herrmann. This is very colorful and appealing to look at. The cost is $67.50.

Autismarts.com - Autism Arts' Autism Awareness Postcard Print can be purchased in bundles of 25 to 1000 cards. 25 postcard prints cost $17.50.

AutismThings.com - This is 100% polyester autism scarf for $6.90. It has a smooth texture and velour finish. They also sell handbooks and fabric.

Autism cards

These are business card size that you carry in your wallet and present to strangers or use as a calling card to give to those who stare while out and about. I keep a stack of a few of these in my purse and give to other parents and replenish my supply often.
