Gloria Abbott Bardwell

Guest Author - Kriss Johnson

Actually, it’s Gloria Fisher Abbott Bardwell Bardwell. Did I miss any names there? There is so much I could say about Gloria, who is a character with many facets.

When Gloria first blew into town, I just simply thought she was trouble for John Abbott. She had come to town with an agenda. She wanted to find a rich, wealthy, and handsome man to marry; someone who would take care of her. John Abbott was intrigued by her bubbly personality. They soon fell in love and that was the start of John’s demise. Gloria repeatedly lied to John about her ex-husband, Tom, and the fact that Kevin and Michael are her children. When the truth emerged, John forgave Gloria and vowed to take care of her ex-husband. John later shot and killed Tom Fisher and was sent to prison, where he soon passed away.

When that marriage ended, Gloria was heartbroken and distraught. Even though her plan was to marry rich, Gloria genuinely cared for John. Her feelings were apparent after his death. Gloria began to take an interest in William Bardwell, who was a tall, handsome and an interesting man. Gloria became enamored with William when he shared the story of his first wife and how much in love he was with her. William and Jill Abbott were dating at this time, but Gloria was determined to catch William’s eye.

William was attending a grieving widows/widowers group. When Gloria found out, she began to attend the same group. Gloria’s determination worked - William later married her. The only glitch to their marriage was that William discovered Gloria’s dirty little secret. This secret contributed to his death.

Though Gloria thought her secret died with William, it didn’t. William somehow managed to send the tainted cream to his twin brother, Jeffrey. Jeffrey arrived in town seemingly nice, but had a plan of his own. Gloria is now scheming with Kevin to get rid of Jeffrey once and for all. In the few short years that Gloria has been on the show, she has buried two husbands, killed an innocent woman, and nearly ruined her husband’s legacy. Gloria has been a walking disaster for the Abbott and Fisher families. I hope Kevin and Gloria are successful in ousting Jeffrey Bardwell once and for all. Gloria is must-see-TV; she is the villain we all love to hate.
