Writing Goals for A New Year - Introduction
What are your writing goals for the New Year?

The new year is here. Many goals and resolutions have been set. As we look to the future of this new year, we look at what kind of goals or projects we want to have accomplished by the end. At the beginning of the year we set our course and path to forge through to the future of things. It should be the same for a writer/editor.

Anyone who writes to produce something that others find useful is considered a writer/editor. We all know there are many genres of writing that is in the culture today. But it still says something about the written word. No matter what happens and no matter how hard people try to stop the written word from going forward, it still manages to be very effective and in many ways efficient in it's arrival and wisdom to a certain extent.

So I'm sure you've heard a lot about goal setting and "New Year's" resolutions. Goal setting is nothing more than plotting the course in a way that directs your steps and leads you in the way toward your desired result...And so it is the same with your newsletter and ezines.

Producing and publishing a newsletter or ezine is as diverse as the publishers and the niches they are used in. So in order to have a newsletter or ezine that stands out from the rest, taking a good look at the craft of writing is justice one place to start. If you are a writer then there should be some type of writing goals you're already familiar with or already have in place.

How much time do you spend on honing your crafting of articles? Do you challenge yourself by writing in other genres besides your own? What aspect(s) of writing do you still struggle with? How serious are you about writing quality articles where only a few select readers will know the difference: but their impact on your business, service or organization will be very inspirational to the ROI of your ezine or newsletter?

These are just some of the areas for setting writing goals to be considered. Just as with any craft you have to stay on top of what is relevant and new today, while honing the already learned part of English grammar and writing. A refresher course of sorts, maybe?

There are many ways to set goals and setting priorities also becomes part of the goal setting process. Determining your writing priorities, both personal and professional, will determine your success rated of achieving or reaching your Writing Goals for this New Year.

Happy New Year and Happy Writing!
