Guiding Light Holiday Wishes

Guiding Light Holiday Wishes
Wish #1 – Dinah’s true character to come back.
Since Dinah’s accident, her storyline is erratic. First she can’t remember how to use the cell phone, then she conspires with Cyrus to help pay for her medical bills, and then Vanessa and Mallet have her committed! Where is the manipulative, spitfire Dinah?

Wish # 2 – Edmund to turbo-charge Springfield.
I am so glad to see Edmund back. I admit, I had reservations when I found out Edmund was returning. I didn’t think it would be the same since the original Cassie left the show. Now maybe with Edmund back, Edmund and Dinah will join forces and revive Guiding Light.

Wish #3 - Gus finds his way back to Harley.
After Gus slept with Natalia, I wanted Harley to move on. The chemistry is still there. There is a reason they won the “Irresistible Combination” award at the 2005 Daytime Emmy awards.

Wish #4 - Phillip Spaulding’s return to Springfield.
Olivia received a package from Phillip for Emma’s birthday. Rick and Olivia are startled, but Beth seems content, and almost excited about Phillip’s contact. Rick is wondering what will happen if Phillip returns. Beth’s true love is Phillip, and since Rick has been around since Beth and Phillip met, he knows the writing is on the wall.

Wish #5 - Josh and Cassie need a makeover.
Josh and Cassie need to get lively, and fast. I never realized how boring Josh is without Reva. I think to breathe life into the storyline, the writers created the baby angle. At first, Josh was against having another baby, since his children are adults. Josh changed his mind and now wants children with Cassie. Reva indicated to him that he is only agreeing to have a child to appease Cassie. I hate to say it, but the all-knowing Reva is right this time.

What are your wishes? I don’t know if any of my wishes will come true, but if at least two are granted, Guiding Light will become more entertaining. Last year was an amazing year, which contributed to the show tying with The Young and the Restless for “Outstanding Drama Series.” The award was well deserved. In order to live up to last year, Guiding Light needs to end 2007 with fireworks.
