For quilters, there is any number of titles with garden-related projects that would be perfect for holiday gifts. “Add-a-Line Extreme Quilting Patterns” by Janie Donaldson was released by the American Quilter’s Society. This includes single line as well as multiple line designs. All in all, there are 112 color-coded designs that are suitable for both hand and machine quilting. The author also devotes a chapter to placement styles and secondary designs. This volume includes any number of floral and nature motifs from butterflies and foliage to flowers, and palm trees. The rose-of-sharon remains one of the most popular quilt patterns. Now there’s a delightful new book from the American Quilter’s Society that offers new, innovative approaches to this old favorite. “Rose of-Sharon” showcases quilts by 20 winning designers and finalists in the annual Museum of the American Quilter’s Society contest. For each of the 17 quilts, there is an in-depth profile of the quilter, the story of the quilt, and its design. Gardeners are sure to love these floral quilts.

Suitable for all skill levels, these projects use a number of different craft techniques for projects that can be used throughout the year. Among the designs are a number of floral and nature themed projects, including floral pillows, greeting cards, and leaf-decorated candles. There are illustrated, step-by-step instructions for each of the projects.

“Thimbleberries Quilts for My Sister’s House” by Lynette Jensen was released by Landauer Corporation. This features 22 delightful projects, many of which depicting floral or garden themes, such as flowers, leaves, and nature scenes. Among the projects are items for every room in the house from table runners, tablecloths, and pillow shams to throws, bed quilts, and wall hangings. In this volume, the designer offers tips on how to decorate by pairing quilts with items you find at flea markets and the like.
