Bextra, Vioxx , Celebrex vs. Fish Oil
Bextra, Vioxx and Celebrex are turning out to be risky, ineffective choices for arthritic pain relief. Vioxx, for example, has been removed from the market after proving to double the risk of stroke and fatal heart attack. And Bextra has also been linked to an increase of heart attacks in patients who have had previous coronary bypass operations.

On top of all this scandal, European researchers recently released a report showing that these drugs are actually of limited use in relieving pain. In a review of 23 previous clinical trials, published in the British Medical Journal, cox-2 drugs were found to be, in the short term, only slightly better than a placebo and, in the long term, no more effective than placebos.

Dr. Jan Magnus Bjordal, lead researcher, said, “We were surprised that the effects were so small. Given the serious adverse effects that the drugs can cause, doctors needed to review carefully whether their use was justified.”

All drugs have limitations, as well as serious risks and side effects, so it makes sense to look for a safe, effective natural alternative to Bextra, Vioxx and Celebrex. Many chronic pain suffers have found what they’re looking for in Omega 3 Fish Oil.

Omega 3 fish oil is a natural anti-inflammatory that has consistently been proven by double blind, placebo controlled research studies to help people get relief from the painful joint stiffness, swelling and tenderness associated with arthritis.

In fact, most arthritic patients taking omega 3 fish oil have been able to eliminate or at least lower “dangerous” cox-2 and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which, according to the New England Journal of Medicine, are responsible for over 100,000 hospitalizations and 16,500 deaths a year.
