Pizza and Calzone Recipes
Grilled Chicken and Mozzarella Pizza
Ingredients:
• 1 12 inch Boboli Pizza Crust (found in your grocery store’s dairy section)
• Boboli Pizza Sauce (usually found next to pizza crust)
• 1 pack of boneless, skinless turkey breast
• 1 pack of mozzarella cheese
• 4 (or more if desired) sprigs of fresh rosemary (optional)
If you can't find the above brand of pizza dough or sauce, any store bought pizza dough will do.
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Cook chicken on pan or grill.
3. While chicken cooks, spray pizza pan (or a large piece of tin foil) with non stick cooking spray.
4. Place pizza crust on pan.
5. Spread the pizza sauce over crust.
6. Add desired amount of cheese.
7. Chop up chicken and add to pizza.
8. Top with fresh rosemary.
9. Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and pizza is heated throughout.
Cheese and Pepperoni Calzones
Ingredients:
• 1 package of Pillsbury Reduced Fat Pizza Crust
• Marinara sauce
• Your favorite shredded Cheese blend (there are plenty of reduced fat
and fat free varieties on the market)
• Pepperoni or Turkey Pepperoni
Side Note: Here is a quick nutritional comparison between pepperoni and turkey pepperoni:
Regular Pepperoni 140 calories 13 grams of fat
Turkey Pepperoni 80 calories 4 grams of fat
Turkey pepperoni is DELICIOUS! I’d suggest trying it in your child’s pizza or calzone without telling them how much more healthy it is. It worked with my husband!
Steps:
1. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Divide pizza dough in half by running a knife down the middle (you should have two rectangle looking shapes).
3. Grease two pie dishes or one large cookie sheet.
4. Spread marina sauce on half of pizza dough.
5. Add desired amount of cheese.
6. Add pepperoni slices.
7. Top with any additional ingredients as desired.
8. Lift up part of dough that has no toppings and fold it up and over the part of dough that does the toppings. You want to “tuck in” the ingredients so to speak. Don’t worry if it looks funny—it will look much more normal after it cooks!
9. Bake for 30 minutes.
Cinnamon Sticks
Ingredients:
• 1 pack of reduced fat pizza dough
• 2 egg whites
• Cinnamon
• Sugar
(You can purchase the cinnamon and sugar combined in your spice isle at the grocery store. It’s also great for adding to toast.)
Steps:
1. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Spread pizza dough over cutting board.
3. Cut strips (about 1-2 inches wide).
4. Moisten each stick with a little bit of the egg whites.
5. Season all sides of each piece with cinnamon and sugar
6. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until cooked through.
Enjoy!
