Tip of the Month - Words ending in -dad.

Let's refresh some ideas about feminine nouns (substantives): We already know that words ending in -a are feminine and we also know that words ending in -ción or -sión are also feminine. (See Spanish words ending in -ción, -sión)

But there are another different type of words, those ending in -dad, which are also feminine.

Here we have some examples:

Nouns ending in -dad
la verdad (the truth) esa maldad (that badness)
nuestra edad (our age) la realidad (the reality)
la amabilidad (the friendliness) esta cantidad (this quantity)
la calidad (the quality) esta claridad (this clarity)

Hope this helps!
