These labels are great if you want a bit of the gothic/tattoo artsy look that is really a fushion of very expressive girly illustration meets gothic culture. Oftentimes these designs will mesh dissimilar themes such as love, flowers and death into one design yet it all comes through that this s art imitating life. What I have come to love about such designs is that they are not boringly one type of design but many different looks melded together. So we have many different elements fused together to form a composite piece that expresses the many paradoxes of life.

This kind of art has always been popular - with the fringe set but now has made a resurgence with the popularization of tattoo culture from the backroads of mainstream culture to something that is now a feature of mainstream culture and TV.

These designs are meant to be printed on a regular or laser printer. Some paper color choices I would recommend are : Natural color paper, tea stained paper colors, grungy backy colors, rice paper, vellum, brown Kraft paper.


Materials and software programs:
Microsoft Publisher
Printer
Paper - off-white, wheat, tan, kraft, etc


Instructions:

1. Download files below and open. These are Microsoft Publisher files that just need to be customized. I have made it easy to do this by inserting the text boxes already. Click into text boxes to add your own text. This design looks especially lovely with fancy fonts available from different font websites.

2. After downloading files, open files by double clicking on file. They will open in Microsoft Publisher. Adjust the file view so that the file is opened 100% for better viewing. Click into text boxes which are bounded with dotted lines and add your own verbiage. When you have finished customizing the label, print out a sample page to check the size against the soap bar it will be covering. My designs are typically made for a soap with a width of 7 X 2.75 inches.


A Note about graphics in file:
The graphic that I created for the two labels are transpearent and scaleable - thus- if one needs to make the image smaller or larger that is done by dragging the dotted corners. This can be done without any loss to the image integrity because it is a high resolution file (300 DPI).
