Hello, and welcome back! The weather here and in much of the northeastern part of the country is dreadful today, making it perfect for staying inside with a good book and a cup of hot tea until the wind and rain (or snow, in some cases) die down. This time, I have three new books to share with you.

Target (Mira) by Stella Cameron is up first. Nick, Sarah, and Aurelie Board aren't really siblings. But they've been together since they were kids and on the run from a maniac cult-leader. Now, though, someone knows who they really were and wants something Nick's mother sent along with them. Someone who'll stop at nothing to get it. And, despite being raised as siblings, there are more adult and definitely not familial emotions tangled up in this one, between Nick and Aurelie, and in Sarah's own heart. When someone asks me for a suggestion for good romantic suspense, Stella Cameron is one name always on my list, but I didn't like this one nearly as well. Even knowing they're not really sibs, this attraction between them still seemed rather icky on many levels. And the beginning of this one is a tangled...well, mess was the first thing I thought as I read. Nick wasn't especially likable. I was a bit disappointed with this one. I'll still recommend Cameron, but perhaps not this book.

Tough Enough (Pocket) by Michele Albert is next with her Avalon series. Will Tiernay's new assignment just got a whole lot more complicated when he meets up with Mia Dolan, who broke his heart years ago. Now she's one of his suspects in an art theft that hasn't happened yet. And Mia has no idea he's there under false pretenses, just that she's as attracted to Will now as she was in college. And, along with solving the mystery, Will's just put her in grave danger, because the people he's after are vicious and cold-blooded. I think that was the part that irked me most in this one, that his behavior lands her right in the thick of things, though sleeping with her while she hasn't been ruled out as a suspect doesn't sit well either.

It Happened One Wedding (Harlequin American #1159) by Ann Roth is next, with another visit to the Oceanside Bed and Breakfast in Oregon. Cammie Yarnell can't possibly turn down the chance to plan the wedding for her friend, even though it means the man she hates most will be working closely with her. Curt Blanco wants very much to work with Cammie, hoping it will let him set things straight between them, but Cammie's far more hurt than he'd expected, even if she is wrong about him. Events beyond the wedding planning have them together too often for Cammie to hold onto her anger long, but Curt is still wrong for her, and they both know it. Too bad he doesn't want her to meet any other eligible men. This one is just what you want from a series romance: a quick read with characters you can root for, and the happy ending you know is waiting after all the heartache. A good read.
