Kelly Sweet - We Are One

Kelly Sweet - We Are One
Listening to Kelly Sweet's debut CD, We Are One, was like attending a Broadway Musical in which your mind was the stage and wave after wave of accomplished artist were performing incredibly in what would become an unforgettable production. Kelly is a "songsmith"!

The first track, "We Are One", lets you know immediately that her's is art, not commercial trickery, and her's is a voice, not imitation on steroids. Moving into the second track, "Raincoat", there is a new satisfaction. It's jazzy and classy, and filled with originality. Those themes and that talent is consistent throughout the entire work.

None of this is surprising when Kelly's background is revealed. From press releases and other promotional information we learn that Kelly, who is only 18, is a veteran of sorts within the music industry. Her talents have been honed since she was a pre-schooler and her first performance took place when she was 4-years-old. By aged 14 she was professional and talented enough to open for Kenny Loggins on occasion, and to have sung the National Anthem more than once for the LA Lakers. She has since performed the Anthem for other major sporting organizations, sang at the 2006 Christmas tree lighting in California for Governor Schwarzenegger, and songs from We Are One, which is slated for release March 6, 2007, have been heard on the day time television shows Passions and One Life to Live.

Kelly is not only a gifted singer, she is also a talented songwriter, having co-written four of the tunes on this CD. Additionally, she is a multi-lingual singer, and several of the tracks drift comfortably and easily into French, Italian, and more! So, yes, Kelly is gathering stardust and she dazzles us with it from start to finish in this debut.
