Valentine’s Day is traditionally a day to enjoy yourself and the person you love, yet it has become a stress filled headache for many people. Finding the right gift, making the ideal plans, rushing around to get those last minute roses-we get so preoccupied trying to make Valentine’s Day perfect that we deign to enjoy it and each other.
What we tend to forget is that Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love, not diamonds, or roses, or golf clubs (for most of us!). Making a point to spend quality time with your loved one or yourself is the greatest gift you can give, and this Valentine’s Day you have a choice. You can get stressed out planning hundreds of little details, or you can decide to relax and have a great, adventure filled Valentine’s Day.
If you're feeling spontaneous and they're available, pack a lunch, grab your bathing suit, towels and a change of clothes and head out to some hot springs. If you live mere hours away, consider a short weekend road trip.Check in Google and ask around to see if there are hot springs in your area; it can be a big treat for your partner or friend and in one of the most enjoyable ways to spend Valentine's Day.
If you're feeling like you want to do something crazy, consider couples skydiving or parasailing. Its an awesome way to enjoy Valentine's and try something you haven't done before.
If you live near a beach, take a surfing lesson together. If you live near a forest go hiking or camping; if you live in a city, think about a fun scavenger hunt that eventually leads your lover home to a candlelit dinner or bath; try something new with your lover that you haven't done before; take a cooking class or dance lessons. Do something together that is outside of your comfort zone and enjoy the feeling of doing something new and being adventurous.
Whatever you do, whether its planned or spontaneous, make sure to just enjoy your time with your lover or friend. giving yourself, your time and your creativity is the best gift you can give:)
