Men, Money & Gold Diggers and The Swear Revisited
Congratulations to I'm Ready Productions for 3 NAACP Award Nominations for their production Men, Money & Gold Diggers. I'm Ready Productions is headed by true emerging musical genuis, writer and producer Je'Caryous Johnson. The production is touring nationwide and the cast includes Ginuwine, Tank, Chico Benymon, Robin Givens, Carl Payne, and Miguel Nunez! Thumbs up, congratulations and good luck!
I also want to give an update on an emerging artist band we featured here as their careers was launching that is doing extraordinary things! The group is The Swear and this is a part of that review from May of 2005:
Check out these lyrics:"The only time I feel alive
is the rush of these threats and the rush of these lies
but I don’t believe in suicide..."
Lyrics from January
Performed by The Swear
Haunting, aren't they? As haunting as the seminal voice of The Swear's lead singer, Elizabeth Elkins, when she performs the lyrical magic she wrote for this song, entitled January, and several others I had the pleasure of sampling.
Elizabeth is not the only talent that shines in this Atlanta based alternative rock band. The band is tight and strong with Kent Aberle on drums, Kevin Williams, bass, and Jeremy Zamora guitar. Although based in Atlanta, and apparently tearing up the Atlanta club circuit, the world has already begun to take significant note of these rising stars.
Since this article their debut CD Every Trick's A Good One has skyrocketed, it has received countless awards and nominations for its excellence, and their sound has triggered the public imagination to such a degree you've been able to hear it on MTV and a host of television shows, to include Life as We Know It, Roswell, Smallville and Rescue Me. We continue to wish them well in their journey!
