HGTV's Dream Home Giveaway…the sweepstakes everyone looks forward to each year.
If you have been entering sweepstakes for any length of time, I am sure you are familiar with the HGTV Home Giveaway Sweepstakes. Every year we salivate as visions dance in our heads of owning a gorgeous home, set in some picturesque location, decorated with the finest furniture and appliances.
This year's home is set in scenic Sandia Park, New Mexico and comes complete with home furnishings, merchandise, a 2010 GMC Terrain, a HGTV Dream Play house and $500,000 cash. The total actual retail value is $2,038,375!

You may also mail in your entries. Just hand print your name, complete address, phone number and date of birth on a postcard or a separate piece of paper no larger than 8˝ x 11 inches, mailed in an envelope with proper postage to: HGTV Dream Home Giveaway, PO Box 52628, Knoxville, TN 37950. If you use the mail in method you may send in as many entries as you want, but they must be postmarked by February 19, 2010 and received by February 26, 2010.
Tip: When you mail in your entries, allow at least 7-10 days mailing time, for them to arrive in time.
When you enter a sweepstakes with a high cash value, make sure you are willing to deal with the taxes that come with your prize. Many times, winners actually have to sell or give up their prize because they are unable to meet the IRS requirements of taxes due.
Today, one of my fellow sweepstake friends won $5,000 on an instant win sweepstakes that she had persistently entered every day. Imagine her surprise when she waited nonchalantly for the familiar, "Sorry, you're not a winner today," and instead, up popped, "Congratulations."
Always remember, someone is going to win, and it might as well be you!
