Basic candle scents

Guest Author - Benito Lugo

Now that the New Year has arrived, we all make resolutions to change certain things in our lives. Sometimes we require something to help us along. In candlemaking we have a great vehicle in that we can add fragrance oils to our candles. This allows the candles you make to aid in healing, relaxation, concentration and a long list of other physical and emotional benefits.

Citrus
Citrus scents help keep you energized and boost your mood. Use orange, lemon and grapefruit scents.

Mint, and Pine Scents
These scents can give you an uplifting feeling and clear the mind.

Lavender
Lavender has been known to promote relaxation. It has been shown to slow the heart rate and promote lower blood pressure.

Rose , Jasmine,, Sandalwood, Gardenia
These scents have been long associated with romance. Flower and wood scents have been known to set a romantic atmosphere.

Each season has certain scents associated with it. Summer has fresh citrus and floral scents.
Fall is popular for pumpkin and spice candles. Winter scents include: pine, apple, berries and cinnamon. Spring fresh floral, cucumber and melon scents.
