Summertime Films, the producer of youth-oriented, American-themed films, has released Her Best Moves, a film that follows Sara Davis, a 15-year old soccer star, played by rising star Leah Pipes. Her overzealous father and soccer coach, Gil, played by Scott Patterson of Gilmore Girls, pushes her to achieve a career in which his own injury prevented him from pursuing. Gil’s desire for Sara to succeed consumes him. And, the needs of his family and daughter are forgotten. The pressures that he imposes upon Sara force her to sacrifice everything from her friends and special relationship to her own personal interest in dancing and photography, all in the name of the game.

Though Sara’s mother, Julia, played by Lisa Darr, also struggles with Gil’s drive to perfect Sara’s talent, she tries desperately to guide her daughter through the trials of adolescence. And, with the encouragement of her best friend, Tutti, played by Lalaine, Sara jumpstarts a life away from soccer, which includes chemistry high-jinks to a budding relationship with Josh, a cute and shy photographer for the high school newspaper, played by Drew Tyler Bell. Sara soon discovers that there’s more to life and more to her than soccer. This discovery allows her to reconnect with her mother. And, she begins to question the path that her father has set before her.

But, it’s when Gil learns that Sara has a good shot at becoming the youngest player on the US National Development Team, he pushes more than ever. And, Sara’s hope of performing in her dancing recital and building a relationship with Josh is pushed away from her. With all eyes of her and the challenges of discovering her true self, can Sara make the best move of her life?
