Whiteout – Kate Beckinsale Carrie, played by Kate is a US Marshall assigned to Antarctica as the base’s only law enforcement. As a result of a partner’s betrayal in the past, she isolates herself in an almost unbearable habitat.
She stumbles on what appears to be a multiple murder that sets the stage for another bout with the idea that someone she trusts may have committed a crime. Deciding to stay behind when most of the crew head back to the states because of a dangerous storm that is on the horizon, she teams up with a UN Operative named Robert Pryce, played by Gabriel Macht. Together they try to figure out who killed whom, and the reason why. They travel to another base that belongs to the Russians where this crime seemed to have originated.
Not only does Carrie have to track down the villain but also battle the conditions of a whiteout that has surrounded their base camp.
Here are the mistakes I found.
When Carrie gets the dice, you can see she is holding them in front of her and her arms are not crossed. When the camera angle changes you can now see the dice in her arms that are crossed, with the dice in her palm.
When Carrie struggles to button her sweater Robert enters the room and then decides to help her. It appears that he buttons the sweater all the way to the top. In then shows Carrie entering the hall with her sweater buttoned only half way.
The doctor, played by Tom Skerirtt, places the bottle of scotch next to his shoulder the label is facing against it. In the next scene the label is facing away from his shoulder.
In the movie Carrie is injured and has two of her fingers on her left handed amputated. While she is struggling with her sweater it shows her hand and the right hand is bandaged instead of the left.
Kate Beckinsale is truly a remarkable actress. She is one of the most versatile in Hollywood. From Vampire to US Marshall she can really dish it out. This movie is no different. If you haven’t seen this one I encourage you to give it a try. It is definitely worth the time.
