Review - Batia & Aleeza - Products for Curly Hair
Batia and Aleeza are sisters. They were raised in Tel Aviv, Israel where they opened their first hair salon. In 1978 they moved to Los Angeles and eventually opened a salon in West Hollywood in 1980 and then moved their business to Beverly Hills.
In response to the problems humidity caused in their own hair, they decided they could develop their own line of products specially designed for curly hair. Their line of botanical hair care products was developed from that decision.
I tested these products.
First I used Bio-Natural Shampoo. It produced a nice lather and smelled nice and fresh. I wet my hair, massaged in the shampoo and rinsed. As is recommended, I repeated the process. I’m sorry to say that I did not care for the shampoo. My hair was left feeling rough and tangly. I felt that it cleaned too well. (This shampoo might be very good for removing product build up left by heavy styling products.)
I towel dried my hair briefly and applied Bio-Protein Conditioner. I combed it through so it covered my hair evenly and left it on for 60 seconds before I rinsed thoroughly. The directions state that for dry and damaged hair, 20% can be left in your hair. I didn’t, but I can see that this would be beneficial for calming frizzies. I like this conditioner. The product didn’t feel heavy and my hair was left feeling soft and moisturized.
After towel drying my hair, I applied Bio-Herbal Mineral Sculpting Gel. I combed this through thoroughly and let my curly hair dry naturally. I was very impressed with the texture of my hair when it dried. The curl was smooth and controlled but not crispy.
I liked this gel.
In conclusion, after testing the Batia & Aleeza products, I was unhappy with one but very happy with the other two. I think the Bio-Protein Conditioner and Bio-Herbal Mineral Sculpting Gel are excellent products and great for curly hair.
