Interview with Breanna Lynn

Interview with Breanna Lynn
Please introduce yourself.
Well, my name is Breanna Lynn, and I am a budding singer/songwriter, just trying to make it in the music industry.

How long have you been singing?
I have been singing since I was walking in a walker as a baby. I responded to music at a very early age. It’s just always been something that I love doing. My first public performance was at the age of 12 when I sang the National Anthem at the Arizona Diamondback’s baseball game.

If you had to compare yourself with another singer who would you say your style is similar to?
Well, that question is typically difficult for me to answer because I listen to such a broad range of music, and so many different artists have influenced my style. I would have to combine the styles of artists like Etta James, Natalie Merchant, Jewel, and Sarah McLachlan to even come close to my sound.

When someone picks up your CD what should they expect to hear?
Something different. Something not quite like anything they have ever heard before, because there are so many different sounds and every song is unique. I think there is at least on song for everyone to enjoy.

Are any of the songs reflective of your real life experiences?
Yes, some songs were direct reflections of my emotion or frustrations. The song, "I See You Breath", was written shortly after my grandfather passed away, and I channeled my sorrow into something creative by writing it down to get it out of my system.

Who are some of your favorite singers?
Artist's like Etta James, Ray Charles, Sting, Sarah McLachlan, and Michael Buble, just to name a few. That list could go on for pages.

What's been one of the hardest obstacles you’ve faced thus far?
I think the hardest obstacle that I have faced so far was having to adjust to a more responsible, less dependent life after moving out of my parents’ house. You don’t realize how much your parents do for you until you have to shoulder some of the burden.

What would your best friend say about you?
My best friend would probably say that I am way too silly for my own good. I have a ridiculous sense of humor. I can find humor in just about anything. You know when you hear that crazy person in the movie theater obnoxiously laughing by themselves? Yeah, that’s me.

Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers?
I would just like to tell everyone that I think there is at least on song on the album that everyone can relate too, so please check my CD, Siren, out and see for yourself.
