If you plan to visit Thailand, consider to visit Ko Phi Phi, a small archipelago in Krabi Province, south of Thailand, and find the fantastic island groups in Asia. Actually, there are six islands in Ko Phi Phi or Phi Phi island but the largest and famous islands are Ko Phi Phi Don and Ko Phi Phi Leh bordered by the Andaman Sea. The natural beauty of the island is incomparable, long white sand beaches, turquoise waters, limestone cliffs mountains, caves and miles of forest will make your holiday unforgettable.
Tourism on Ko Phi Phi has developed rapidly nowadays and it becomes one of the major destinations for visitors to Thailand. However you can still find lots of quiet places to relax and backpackers can still get cheap rooms away from the beach. The common transportation to get around on Ko Phi Phi are by foot, bicycle and long-tail boat.

Phi Phi Don
Ko Phi Phi Don is the only populated island and the largest among the six Phi Phi islands. With recent development in the region, you will find numerous hotels, restaurants, and bars along the Ton Sai beach. Here are some points of interests in Phi Phi Don :

 Viewpoint
Located at 186 m above sea level, it is a breathtaking view to see the entire island especially at sunrise and sunset. It is a very steep walk about 30 minutes to reach the viewpoint and you can enjoy a tropical drink at the rooftop bar.

 Tsunami Memorial Garden
It is a beautiful and quiet place for contemplation and prays for the victims of the Asian tsunami tragedy in 2004.

 Yao Beach
Yao beach is a small place with fantastic views and coral reefs; it’s a good place for snorkling and scuba diving, located in the south of Ton Sai

 Ton Sai
It is the place where the original inhabitants live but now it is a crowded village where most tourists stay. Plenty of hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, blast pop music and fire shows held every night in several locations may disturb the lost paradise but the landscape however, is still stunning.

Phi Phi Leh
Ko Phi Phi Leh is a smaller island, really beautiful, uninhabited and remains completely untouched, but plenty of tourists are visiting the island during daylight. It is a part of a marine National Park which is home to abundant of corals and colorful fish. You can see them swim in the clear water when you stand at the Pier. Here are some attractive locations you should not miss:

 Maya Bay
The most fantastic beach with colorful reef fishes and hard coral make the bay a favorite place for diving and snorkeling. This is the location where the movie, The Beach (Leonardo DiCaprio) took place in 1998. To get there, you can hire a long tail boat which cost approximately 1,500 baht for a half day trip. If possible try to arrive there as early as possible, before 8 am as the place will be crowded with tourists coming in with speedboats from 9 am onward. Or you can also take afternoon trip around 3 pm to catch the sunset when you leave the bay.

 Lohsamah Bay
Not far from Maya Bay, there is another bay that has a U shape form with a big rock in the middle. You can see a hole in the rock which leads in the gorge behind Maya Beach. People can go through the hole or take a short walk from Lohsamah to Maya Bay but you should be careful with the waves and tides or the rocks below the surface of the water.
