Book Review ; Beginner's Guide to Beadwork
Madeleine Rollason has done a gorgeous job with this book.
There are a lot of great books for beginning beaders, with different sorts of projects. This one is fantastic, it's got a lot of different projects, all very clearly photographed and illustrated and well explained. It covers all the basic stitches and has projects to go with them that aren't intimidating and turn out gorgeous. One of them, the peyote stitched choker done in flat peyote with fringe is one I'm planning on doing. It's simple enough to be done quickly, and has enough area and flexibility for design I can make it something that's uniquely mine. For me, that's the best sort of project, something I can develop my own ideas from, and this book is full of the techniques you'll need to do just that.
It's 64 pages, all in color, and it's a great book for a beginner.
It's put out by Search Press.
