Ted Koppel on Discovery Channel

Ted Koppel and Discovery Communications have joined together to form The Koppel Group and they are airing the first of the new groundbreaking series on September 10, 2006. The first show will be a three hour prime time look at Koppel: The Price of Security.
Ted Kopple was ABCNews’ chief diplomatic correspondent from 1971-1980 and during 1975-77 he anchored the ABC Saturday Night News. In 1980, Ted Koppel was given the assignment of anchor of ABCs’ Nightline, which he anchored until 2005.
Ted Koppel has been a journalist for more than 42 years, interviewing world leaders. Ted Kopple has won 37 Emmys, 6 Peabodys, 10 dupont-Columbia, 9 Overseas Press Clubs, 2 George Polks, 2 Sigma Delta Chis (highest honor for public service by the Society of Professional Journalists), the first Goldsmith Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Journalism and many other awards.
