Tiger Wins Again
Tiger Woods dominated the PGA Championship at Midinah Country Club in Chicago, Illinois by shooting 18 under. He was tied with Luke Donald after Saturday's play and Sunday said it all as Tiger only had three Bogies for the whole four day Tournament.
This tournament was filled with Birdies as at one time almost 70 players were under par. Much of the promotion before the tournament was pairing Tiger with Phil Mickleson and they played even the first day but Tiger ended Saturday with 14 under while Mickelson ended with 8 under.
It was amazing to watch Tiger the final two days as he was so focused and carried out his game plan to win by five strokes. Luke Donald, Mike Wier, Sergio Garcia and Shaun Micheel tried to make a game of it but lost ground.
It seems many golf courses are trying to make the course as hard as they can, but making the rough long and thick, changing the shape and position of some greens. Although the greens did not seem to be as slick as with the Masters but did give the players lots of problems. With the rains the course received the greens were holding so players were able to keep their ball on the green.
Many viewers like to see the Professionals have to work hard to survive a Major championship. We who love golf like to see these Pro's test their skills and work to become a winner. Tiger has figured out just what he has to do on any type of golf course. It is a pleasure to watch this great talent. Fans love to watch Birdies, Eagles and a stray Hole-in-one. It is what keeps us watching and love to watch that spectacular shot. This tournament gave the viewers all they wanted.
