Curly Hair Cut into Great Shaped Styles
The amount of curl you have and the strength of your curl (whether it is springy or weak) must be kept in mind while cutting. Dry haircutting is often more successful than wet cutting in curly hair.
- Shampoo and condition with products labeled moisturizing, hydrating or smoothing. These products are formulated with ingredients to control curly hair.
- Towel blot your hair and coat it with serum or elixir to control curl and calm frizzies. You may want to use both products to achieve your own personalized result.
For a firmer result or if you have very strong curl, add styling foam, glaze or gel that is also formulated for curly hair.
- Dry your hair with a diffuser. If you have strong, tight curl, gently run your fingers through your hair to arrange it as it dries, being careful not to lift it or scrunch it.
If your hair is loose or weak, scrunch it into place as it dries. This encourages the curl and adds fullness.
- When your hair is thoroughly dry, scrunch finishing cream into the curls to moisturize the ends and get rid of frizz.
This longer style is layered so that there is fullness through the top. The ends lay close to the body.
The top layers extend to about eye level to the lower ear level and then blend down to the ends. The ends are texturized to take out bulk and fullness.
Shampoo, condition, add styling products and dry as is explained above.
No two curly heads of hair are the same. Curly hair is as individual as you are. Experiment with products and the styling of your curl to find the perfect combination for your perfect style.
