The Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation - Parent Public Policy Fellowship Program 2007 deadline is September 15, 2006 with the successful applicant expected to begin the year in January of 2007.

The program provides a one-year full-time exposure to the federal public policy making process, and includes a stipend and relocation expenses. The website has not been updated in awhile, but it does show for a previous year the stipend being $75,000.

They seek parents or family members with prior advocacy experience, although salaried experience in the field is not a requirement. The expectation is that fellows will become future leaders in the field of disabilities.

This is a wonderful opportunity for parents of children with autism, from the United States who are prepared to live in the Washington, D.C. area.
