Future Horizons Conference in San Diego with Tony Atwood
Tony Atwood will be on the subject of Encouraging Social Understanding and Emotion Management.
Sean Barron will be speaking on Unwritten Rules of Social Relationships.
Lori Ernsperger will be discussing Strategies for Managing Problem Behaviors.

Thursday participants will learn how those on the Autism Spectrum are impacted by their limited ability to involve themselves with others such as students, friends and family. They will also gain new perspectives on how to assist the child or adult with behavior difficulties and understand the personal views of someone with autism.
Those participating on Friday will learn about possible medication problems of someone with AS or autism. They will be able to describe methods to help reduce anxiety, anger and depression in individuals with ASD. They will also learn about the appropriate assessments for those who are high functioning and/or have Asperger's Syndrome.

There is a five dollar savings if you register online with a credit card. The cost for a person on the Autism Spectrum for two days is $125 or one day at $75.00. For a family member or student the two day cost is $160 or $110 for one day participation. A professional for two days is $180 or $135 for one day. There are also group rates for families and professionals. This is for those who are on the same purchase order, check or credit card.

Prior to June 26th the room rates for the conference will be $215 for a single/double with mentioning the autism conference. The Hotel parking is complimentary.
The autism conference is suited for parents, teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, SLPs and Social Workers. The Future Horizons bookstore will also be displayed at the conference.
Make note that this particular conference is during the weekday in the summer. Families that are taking a vacation to San Diego might be interested in attending this conference. Each parent can attend one day while the other parent tends to the children.
For professionals this conference is a provider of continuing education units. You can also substitute someone else for yourself if you cannot attend.
