Ahhh, Mother’s Day! Breakfast in bed: Cereal, spilt milk, giggles and smiles offered up from small loving faces! What a wonderful day! Mother's Day In the United States this year is celebrated on Sunday May 14, 2006. In the UK, Mothering Sunday is March 26, 2006. Back in the 1600’s England Celebrated “Mothering Sunday” on the 4th Sunday of Lent. It was to Honor Mothers of England. On Mothering Sunday, the poor were encouraged to leave their “Homes of Employment” and enjoy the day off with their mothers. A festive special cake, called the mothering cake, seemed to add another special touch to the day. No matter where you are, most mothers and children enjoy the holiday.
