Are you a technical stock trader? Have you considered trading exchange-traded funds (ETFs)? You may find that Jing Zhang and Anthony E. Hu’s eBook Top 5 Technical Indicators for ETF Trading is beneficial for you.

I was asked by the authors to review this eBook. Its concepts sounded intriguing so I gave it a read. I do not, usually, advocate frequent stock trading. I have limited experience with technical analysis. This review comes from the viewpoint of a beginner.

That being said, I found that I could follow the information in the book. I was able to grasp the main ideas. Some of the details I found hard to follow. The charts, in particular, gave me some difficulty. They were a little blurred for determining which line represented which ETF or index. I think someone with more trading knowledge could have followed along with much more ease.

The authors did a good job explaining the advantages to using exchange-traded funds to trade. I like the concept of using ETFs. I think this book would be ideal for someone who has been trading for a while. You need the experience of technical analysis to put this book to work for you. This book is not for beginners.

The eBook's layout is very straightforward. It examines five technical indicators that can be used to determine the direction of the market. These indicators are the Relative Strength Index, the Volatility Index, the ISE Sentiment Index, the Smart Money Indicators, and the Traders Index. The authors point out that no one indicator can be used by itself. Indicators often contradict each other. The authors explain how several indicators are needed to compare to each other to gain a clearer market picture.

One part I liked was the section explaining what moves markets. From the effects of the United States Federal Reserve policy to earnings season, each market mover is very well explained. This information is important to understanding how to trade successfully.

The sections on the basics of ETFs and how the market moves are good reading for anyone. The technical analysis sections are straightforward and concise. The authors include many references at the end of the book for further research. There are online sources mentioned throughout the book to link to for more information.

One thing I am impressed with is the young co-author of this book. Anthony E. Hu is in seventh grade. This young man shows great promise with his interest in finance.

I would recommend this eBook to someone who is a more experienced investor. This eBook can help you to improve your technical analysis if you choose to trade ETFs.
