DISCOVERY

Today I smiled and all at once, things didn't look so bad

Today I shared with someone else a bit of hope I had

Today I sang a little song while my heart grew light

And I walked a happy little mile without a cloud in sight

Today I worked with what I had not longing for anything more

And what seemed like only weeds were flowers at my door

Today I loved a little more complained a little less

And in the giving of myself I forgot my weariness.

MIRROR

Only a storm can bring forward new change

Sometimes we are in need of it

But first we must battle the rain.

Only a strike can light a fire

Sometimes from a new match

We learn who we are.

Only a dawn can bring a new day

Sometimes we can't face it

Until the night has been paid.

Only a mirror can see our eyes

Sometimes we find a new hello

Reflecting in our goodbyes.
