Last season, it was Gary Hogeboom on CBS's "Survivor". This season, it is Jerry Rice on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars". Our favorite sports icons are making the move from the field to the reality show. So how is Jerry doing on "Dancing with the Stars"?

After being drafted in 1985, Jerry played wide receiver for 16 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He played in 4 Super Bowls, 3 with the 49ers and 1 with Oakland. San Francisco won all three with Rice being named MVP of one. He holds 38 NFL records. In other words, Jerry Rice is a hero to the best of them.
His next career move has involved the Quickstep and the Waltz. For Jerry Rice, "Dancing with the Stars" seems to have been an easy transition. He already has quick feet, but now he has them set to music. I think he is doing a great job. There are times when he is not perfect on the dances, but he is showing real improvement. He even took a ballet class on the show to help with movement. Be sure to notice the big ring on his necklace. It is one of his 3 Super Bowl rings.
When we first saw that Rice was on the show, we questioned his sanity. However, as the weeks go on and we see him dancing, it is a nice change from the regular celebrities. We were not as impressed by ESPN anchor Kenny Mayne, but it would have been nice to see him improve. He was the first voted off. Jerry is not the highest scoring or the most voted for on the show, but he probably has the fastest feet.
To catch Jerry Rice on "Dancing with the Stars", check out ABC on Thursday and Friday nights at 8 EST.
