Audio Adrenaline has sold over three million albums in their fifteen year career. They've also amassed eighteen No. 1 single and numerous Grammy and Dove awards.
But after they release their next album, appropriately titled Adios, the band is calling it quits.
It seems with all the years on the road and in the studio, Audio Adrenaline frontman Mark Stuart is experiencing "ongoing vocal challenges" that has caused doctors to advise that the more he tours, the worse the condition will get. And without the live shows, the band feels they cannot live up to the expectations of the fans.
"Fifteen years of rock 'n' roll takes a toll on the vocal chords, but I wouldn't trade a day of it for anything," says Stuart in a press release announcing the band's plans to disband. "Touring and making records with (fellow bandmates) Will (McGinniss), Ben (Cissell) and Tyler (Burkum) has truly been a gift from God, as well as worshiping night after night with the greatest fans on the planet."
A special edition Adios package is slated to include a DVD containing all of Audio Adrenaline's videos, live performance footage and new band interviews. This package will also feature interviews from artists impacted by Audio Adrenaline, including tobyMac and Steven Curtis Chapman, as well as members of MercyMe, Pillar, Relient K and Newsboys, each talking about their shared tour experiences and favorite memories of Audio Adrenaline.
The band currently has tour dates planned through at least September, when the band makes their annual pilgrimage to Orlando for Universal Studios "Rock the Universe" Christian music festival.
