Inglourious Basterds – Brad Pitt Begins in German-occupied France, where young Shosanna Dreyfus (Melanie Laurent) barely escapes with her life as Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) executes her family. She flees to Paris, where she assumes a new identity and later becomes the owner of and operator of a cinema.
Brad Pitt plays Lieutenant Aldo Raine, leader of a small group of Jewish American soldiers that the enemy have nicknamed 'the basterds.' Raine's teams up with british soldier Lt. Archie Hicox (Michael Fassbender, and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to end the war by taking down the Third Reich.
Here are some of the mistakes I found.
While in the basement pub the German Officer is drinking a beer out of a boot shaped glass, in between shots you can see that the level of the beer changes.
In chapter one when the German Officer is inside sitting at Perrier’s table if you notice the shadow seems to change shape and a couple of times it is totally gone. While The Officer is writing on the paper the shadow is almost all the way across the table but then in the next scene the shadow is completely gone. Then a second or two later the shadow is back but a different length all together.
Just before the Germans come to get Shosanna and she is on the ladder she is cleaning the black letters. It shows her cleaning two, the ‘u’ and the ‘i’ but in the next shot it looks like she has only cleaned the ‘i’ and the ‘u’ remains unclean.
During the cinema scene when Shosanna is taking the letters off the marquee if you look closely you can see that the letters on the blanket change places from scene to scene.
In chapter one when the German officer is talking to Perrier you can see a moth flying around and it lands on the Officer’s glass of milk. In the next scene the moth is gone.
In the scene where Shoshanna is putting her red dress on she also applies red lipstick. In the next scene she goes to take a sip of water from a glass and the red lipstick is gone.
The movie is great and some of the acting is superb. But, it is not one of those movies I can watch over and over. There are some scenes that are extremely graphic and disturbing. Of course this is a time of war when people were fighting for their very lives. I urge you to see it just the same.
